Buying new computer - which one is good enough for a fast FM experience?
I am buying a new laptop, and I want one that will be good enough for playing FM without becoming annoyed cause of slow gameplay. I've not played for weeks, cause I've been sick of my old and SLOW computer..
I know that the cover of the game says recommended specifications, but maybe there are other things to think about as well?
So, if anyone can help me with a list of specifications that would guarantuee me a great machine for playing FM, I'd be thrilled!

i was in your situation 4 months ago. What did i do? Bough a new PC. you dont want to buy a laptop. A computer might be more expensive in the short run, but in the long run its a much better investment. its a lot easier to break a laptop then a pc, its a lot easier using a mouse instead of fiddling round with those laptop things. and incase your wondering, if i go on holiday mode for a year, with ALL the leagues up, with a huge database. It only takes 20 minutes

Thanks, but I'm quite determined on having a laptop, as I like to be able to bring it to a friend's house to play FM, as well as having the freedom to have it in different places around the appartment.

All you need for FM is a good processor and (imo) at least 2gig of memory.
Depending on how much money your wanting to spend on a laptop you could try Alienware, designed for power and look sexy but are expensive. http://www.alienware.com/
I wish people would stop buying sh!te from PC world though.

I play on a laptop and it is working fine. You know you can connect a mouse to a laptop aswell and a keyboard and a external screen, then you get the comfort of a stationary computer when sitting put but the freedom of bringing the computer with you when you go.
The best tip I can give is to make up a budget on how much your willing (able) to spend. Then start looking around, asking questions, comparing stats and speccs. A lot of people are afraid of buying something that don't say IBM, Compaq or the likes on the shell but you can get a better computer for less money if you don't focus so much on the brand, by the end of the day it all says made in Taiwan (maybe not Taiwan, but you get the picture) on the inside anyway. Go for processorspeed and RAM, those two are FM's best friend. If your playing other games or do lots of other stuff make sure you know what those things need aswell, when it comes to sound and graphics. Buying online is often cheaper than from a store but make sure you familiarize yourself with warrenties and such before ordering something from the across the globe.
