If I bought a laptop today that I was planning on playing on I would probably go for a Intel centrino 2 duo at 2.2 GHz

Sucks that you can't edit posts.

I guess the AMD Turion x64 x2 dual-core mobile is a slightly cheaper option but should perform rather well.

I highly recommend a quad core CPU. Mine destroys everything FM throws at it. And as much RAM as you can lay your hands on.

I'm no computer wizard, so would you ellaborate for me what quad core CPU means?

And how much RAM is a lot of RAM?

e6850, 2gb RAM- will allow you to play every single league.

No need for quad as iirc FM08 doesnt utilise anything more than 2 cores.

Even Crysis doesnt benefit from 4 cores.

Nothing wrong with looking to the future though, but unless you want to OC the e6850 will give you the most FM bang for your buck.

Take a look at some of Acer's travelmate laptops. Decent price for rather good performance.

For £315 you could get:

AMD X2 4000+
ASus AM2 board
2 gig of XMS2 ddr 800
Hiper 650w PSU
HD 3850 GPU
Artic Cooler
etc etc

I'd always prefer a desktop for application intensive tasks ..
