Are there any "gamestopping" bugs for you? (please list) pre patch my stadium got upgraded, but when it was finished it actually got downgraded to 500 seats.
Do you use a downloaded tactic or your own? My own, tactics are the best part of the game
Do you use "super youngsters" like Aaritolo/Breno etc, or a team with many players over 185-190 Current Ability/Potential Ability? When my scouts can find one i would be crazy to not buy him, but i never look through the best players forums.
What formations have you tried and had success or failure with? 4-4-2 failure, 3-4-3 failure, 4-3-3 success, 4-1-2-2-1 success
What is your standard formation, is it similar to FM07? I don't have a standard formation, i try to create about 4 formations every new season depending on my players strengths. From these 4 i pick the one that i think will work the best for the upcoming match.
Do you find the match engine significantly different from 07, what differences are the most strik striking? In many points better, but the lack of goals after the last patch i don't like at all. In real life in the Belgian 1st division there are about 24.67 goals in 9 games/match day average. In FM i counted 11.71. I did look up results from the last 10 years and calculated the average for both.
Are you satisfied with gameplay and value for money with:
- the release Yes, besides the closing down, registering players and stadium bug i loved it!
- 8.01 patch No, and the reason why is Si got scared by so many negative posts (most without a valuable input) and overdid some things.
- date of 8.02 patch ("Early Feb 2008" Paul C.) Yes, and if SI isn't satisfied with it around that time, i can even wait one month longer for a patch!
Will you be buying FM 2009 next year? Yes, but i think i will wait until 2nd patch is released.
Will you buy/pay for FM Live? No
Do you use Media Interaction? Yes, and i wished there was even 10 times as much media interaction in the game, because imo media can make and break managers. Imagine what pressure it might give to see your mailbox suddenly full of questions before a Champions league match or a cup final match or in top games. Imagine questions like will you be playing this or that striker... Imagine questions after a game why you didn't select that player in favor for another one, etc. I think it would make you feel important and pressured at the same time just like how it is in reality.
Do you think it is a good feature? Totally... Imagine a world without media in football... Imo there should be more questions but with a smaller impact on morale
Any other comments? I think straight out of the box the results (goals) in FM where spot on. But because of the closing down bug there have been some changes that made scores in 8.0.1 way to low. With that i don't mean especially my own team but the entire league i play in. When i look at real results like for example yesterday "Chelsea 4-4 Aston villa and Tottenham 5-1 Fulham" these i don't see anymore in the game and out the box these results did occur. And for those who say yeah but that was only one match day heres some results from the 17th match day in real life EPL "Man City 4-2 Bolton and Wigan 5-3 Blackburn" or remember "Everton 7-1 Sunderland, Chelsea 6-0 Man City, Portsmouth 7-4 Reading, Tottenham 4-4 Aston Villa and Liverpool 6-0 Derby" all results from real life games, but yet i have to see my first 5-0 win in FM after 8.0.1. If SI manage to fix this together with the registering players bug, one on ones bug and for some (not me) the board confidence bug, FM08 could be the best FM ever.  |

Trying to but not always. This is the hardest version to master so far nd because of that it's by far the best in my opinion

Nothing is game stopping, there are too many shots, but looking at the scoreline at the end I don't usually feel that the result was wrong

I've managed teams in Ligue 1 with no player ovevr 170 CA and won the Champions league. I currently manage Barca, though every player I've brought in has been on a free transfer so I have a great side, but it's not the best player in the world at each position. Even though you could easily do that with Barca's bankroll. I have like 175 million pound transfer budget.

Success with 4-4-2, 4-3-3, and 4-5-1 and 3-5-2

Don't have a standard, varies by personnel
Do you use Media Interaction?
The standard media interaction you get before each game is pointless, however the manager comments and player form comments can be used and made to have an effect on outcome of the match so I like those.
Do you think it is a good feature?
[b]Overall I give it a C+, good, not great. However they should just give more varied responses and questions and keep the feature.

I signed both Aaritalo and Breno to my River squad, I don't see why it should be bad because it's not my fault they were made so good, it's the problem of the FM researchers, and Breno is quality IRL, Bayern have signed him iirc

Haven't watched many games yet. Biggest difference to me is the odd looking 'wear and tear' that suddenly stops and gives way to perfect grass around the perimeter.

No. I'm going to try the idea of only buying a new version every other year or couple of years. So, my next FM will probably be 2010 or 2011. It should save money, and create bigger surprises with each version.

No. I hate the types of people who play online: 70% are cheaters/weasels, and 30% are low-lifes looking to disrupt everyone else's enjoyment.
