Why cant B teams work in the English leagues?

I created a B team for Arsenal and compared it to Barcelona's B team and can see no difference! Is it hard coded to work in Spain? and what would be the chances of being able to make it work in England?

i have the same problem in Italy, it should work but all i get is a error when loading leagues and cups

FM follows the rules of the game, so no B teams in England, no B teams in Italy.

That's just stupid, what's the point of adding the feature it you can't use it. It could be done in the other FM's.....

Sounds more like a bug...

Thanks for the reply White Flag. I no its the rules but I was wandering if there was a way round it.

Also the B team I created was allowed to compete in the FA cup, thats not the rules is it!

What happen to the game? Did it start or did the same happend to you as did to me?

i tried adding a B team for celtic & when i loaded the game scotland was missing from the country option menu. i went back & removed the B team & scotland was back. i had added the celtic B team to the scottish 1st division. seems like it would work if you could delete a team from another league, but i couldn't manage to make it work.

FM is hard coded to follow the rules of the game : for England that means 3 points for a win, 5 subs, 3 used, no B teams etc. etc. B teams cannot be physically connected to the main squad in such a way that they would replace anothr team in a lower division. FM and CM before it have always been so.

Until the Football League changes the rules I cannot see B teams becoming an option, not sure if FM's licence agreement would even allow then to consider it.

A B team, if created, may appear in the FA Cup but only because the initial round of the FA Cup draws from all non league teams domiciled in England. even 'fake' ones such as yours. It's just a freak of your own creation I'm afraid.

I believe it can work in England, but B teams cannot be or get promoted to higher than the Conference.

I have found a way to create a B team and have them play in a playable league. I'm going to start a new thread to explain.
