I've just come to (almost) the end of the season with Liverpool - we've won the premiership (Though God only knows how) being tailed the whole way by Chelski.
Now i'm in the FA Cup Final AND(!) the Champions League Final against none other than Chelski too.
The thing is that for the past 6 months or so the game has been scoring goals against me for fun, I've no idea why. We've kept 2 clean sheets in about the last 25-30 matches, no joke.
When we win it's 2-1 or 3-1 or 3-2, even 4-2 and 4-3. In matches where we're 3-0 up and absolutely cruising, in the last minute or two a defender will make a ridiculous (and lets face it - highly unlikely) error to gift the opposition a goal, a goal which doesn't alter the result but still takes away my clean sheet and ruins a perfectly good performance.
It feels like the game is just doing it for badness/on purpose, i've made no drastic tactical changes and like I've said and you can see in the Snapshot what we've won so far.
I'm just worried going into those two cup finals as they are against English opposition and i ship goals as though they were going out of fashion.
Any ideas why this is happening? The game wouldn't just turn on me for no reason would it? I'm really getting stressed out by this because I've no idea why it is happening - like i said, i feel like the game is doing it on purpose, we'll be 2 or 3 up then mysteriously gift a goal to Northampton Town...
Please someone help me as i'm going out of my mind.
First, look Here . In a few words, try to lower creative freedom on your defenders, especially the ones who have made these mistakes, and adjust their passing style. Second, I would go to more defensive - counter attacking tactic in the last 10-20 minutes. Finallyy, check concentration stat on your DCs. It might be that once you up by 2 or more they lose concentration or get complacent. So a sub for such def could be an option.
One thing I forgot to mention. Check out your trainning schedule for the defenders. Obviously they should have relatively high def training, but also medium to high tactical trainning (among other things it covers positioning, anticiapation AND concentration) and at least a little bit of attacking (covers passing). Adjust it if it's not the case. You won't see immediate effects, but it should help later.
