I'm currently playing with a big/small man front line partnership, but I'm having great trouble getting the big man to win in the air.
I'm Roma, and have three target men all over 6", with jumping and heading 16 or over. I set them to target man, and get the ball played to their head. In every game though they are getting dominated,in the last match, the big man has 44 headers and won 7!
This is happening in every match with every target man. I've even tried moving the big man so he plays against the smaller CB - but no joy. Any ideas fellas??
Your man is big but he can't win headers? Look at his strength attribute maybe? And his Off the Ball attribute. I have never had any problems with my TM winning headers, though unlike you, I would prefer my TM to have heading and jumping and strength at at least 18.
PS. Height is more of a cosmetic feature, and does not play any part in the match engine.
I'm just not sure Ubos, I'm trying to think if I'm doing something that is causing conflict in his instructions. I've told him not to mark or close down in the hope that he will be sitting in space, but nothing seems to work
He can jump, but is he brave, is he aggressive, is he strong. Does he have the ability to shake his marker. All these factors must be taken into account. Also try setting his forward runs to rarely to leave his marker with a dilema and possibly open up space for you little guy to receive the flick on.
Thanks guys, I will put your ideas into action. I have found in the last couple of games, that I have had more success by not having the target man box ticked, but just naming him in the target man screen. This seems to stop the play from becoming too one dimensional.
