Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Roma style tactic

Hi
I'm looking to create the current tactic of Roma under Spalleti. From what I understand Roma don't really have a true striker so they put a playmaker Totti upfront who is supported by Manicini, Taddei and Perrota. From watching a few games the attacking style seems fluid but when there are injuries Roma doesn't have the 'right' players to fill in and they fall apart (e.g. Roma Vs Man U). So has anyone made a Roma tactic? And what would the basic shape look like?

that tactic was way off.
roma plays 4-1-2-2-1

mexes and chivu as central defenders.
tonetto and panucci as fullbacks who push up a lot.
pizzarro as a deep lying playmaker
de rossi and perrota as holding mids.
perrota has freedom to push up.
mancini and taddei as attacking mids who push up and have a lot of creative freedom.
and totti who drops back to get the ball and playmake when roma is in posession.

now the mids play a little narrow the width is mostly provided by the fullbacks. such is the italian way.

good luck implementing this in fm.
its gonna be tough.
