As for the possession I need to know more about your tactic like what passing you use, tempo and mentality.

For a possession game you need to play slow and short rather than direct and quick. Read my Sheff Utd Project 08 thread, I have an article in that about playing a possession game it might help you.

I often get 55-58% at home playing slow tempo short passing with milan in FM8.
Its would be alot higher if the timewasting bug was fixed( the cpu uses 30-40 sec on all throw ins, goalkicks etc for 90 min)
