Defensive midfielder for promoted Spanish side in 2010
Hey mates,
I'm just finishing my first season at Sociedad, 2009/2010 and got them promoted in 2nd place (looks like that, two matches to finish the season, promotion secured).
My ass man (realistic a**, I should say) tells me my team will be slaughtered in first division.
I used two journeymen in the team and after being crucial they're both "active retired" players at this stage - Bosco (from Sao Paulo), excellent GK usually but with a couple of terrible performances and Rodrigo Fabri, other Brazilian in the twilight of his career, very weak phisically and slow but with tremendous technique.
I can't rely on them anymore. My other transfer, Dalle Valle, has evolved brilliantly and he'll be around for my La Liga adventure.
Now I am in desperate need to find a dominating and mean defensive midfielder - a fierce tackler, preferably experienced/composed, who can take anybody out with physical prowess as well (i.e. pacey/strong/resistant).
This season I played Sociedad in the tactics they were used to (no wonder my ass man is completely attack minded), with a 4-2-3-1.
For La liga I'll change that to a 4-1-2-2-1 or a 4-1-2-1-2, meaning 3 defensive midfielders and I'm looking for the one to stay in front of my defensive line to be that AM designated hunter.
If you know anyone, please let me know.
Oh, I almost forgot...
If he's subtle, better (no need for an ejection every 2 matches).
My budget is at most 5 million euros and I can afford a wage up until 50-60k euros a month.
Recommendations really appreciated.
Cheers,
Tele

Try Alexandre Song from Arsenal (or wherever he is in your game). He's not the best of tacklers but is good at it and quite strong as well. But it just depends on your luck how much you can pick him up for. The problem with being so far into your game is that we wont know who's gone where and who's doing how well. Your best bet might be to look in the reserves of some of the bigger teams (and smaller ones if you could be bothered) and see who's listed as a backup there. Those players tend to be cheap and you should find some that'll fit the bill for you. Good luck.
