Why arent some great players in FM2008 so good in real life?
Ok, this came into my mind when i was looking at Jimmy Briand's stats at my 2008-2009 season. He scored 38 goals in 34 game he played. Topscorer in Europe and Italy. You all know his stats are pretty good, absolute next Henry.
But why dont we hear his name in real life? Why dont we hear any news that big teams like Chelsea, ManU, Madrid chasing him? He is young too, only 22..Why dont we hear any news that he becomes topscorer in French lique etc..
i think this only makes the game unrealistic, nothing else..
Other great players in the game who we dont hear anything about in real life:
Matias Fernandez (nobody chasing him, has done no impact in laliga)
Sergio Aguero (absolute god in the game, again really silent in real life)
Barzagli (greatest defender in game, i havent heard of him in real life)
list goes on....
Anyway merry christmas

In FM 2007, there were a bunch of unknowns who were great in the game, but at unknown clubs in real life.
However, by now, they are all at good clubs or are about to. Off the top of my head:
- Guardado: now at Deportivo
- Corluka: now at Man City
- Ustari: now at a La Liga club
- Marcelo: now at Real Madrid
- Gago: now at Real Madrid
- Higuain: now at Real Madrid
- Guarin: now at Boca Juniors
So FM has been very good at predicting promising youngsters.
Anyway, the thread itself is a bit daft. These players mentioned are judged by their potential, if they havent reached their potential in real life yet then how is that a fault with the game? Its impossible to predict with 100% certainty who will go on to become a top class player.

"Briand is being tipped to be one of France's top strikers in the future, and his playing style has drawn comparisons with Thierry Henry. After starring for Stade Rennais in the 2006-2007 season, he attracted the attention of clubs such as Arsenal, Saint-Étienne, Newcastle, Portsmouth and Lens"
