Playing as Cambridge city in nationwide conference. Got an offer of a bit over one million pounds for my star player. It was from a big french club as far as i remember. The player also is french.
Question: Can this in any circumstances happen in real life? I remember this was normal in CM4, but it was unrealistic in many ways anyway. Just seems unbellievable.
What is the biggest money ever paid for a conference player? in real life that is

Yes, the transfer bids for lower league players seems unrealistic in FM 2006. Back when I was in the Scottish Second Division, I received £800k for my right winger & £1.5M for my striker.
Some LLaMas have decided to turn down such offers, deeming them unrealistic. Me? I take 'em, considering the exorbitant prices I've had to pay for players. Most recently, a Falkirk defender valued at £55k cost me £375k, and Ross County rejected my £1M offer for a promising Ross County midfielder valued at £120k.

It is unrealistic. Taking advantage of it is taking advantage of a less than impressive transfer AI

Hmmmm...
Being more of the 'drunk management school' than the "LlaMa-school" (allthought I follow a lot of the rules), I can only say it mostly works the other way around for me:
Splashing ridiculous amounts of money on sh*te players due to sh*te scout-reports - meanwhile thinking with my drunken head I just bought the next star...

Yeah, I turned it down naturally.Cos it was unrealistic.

| Eh, it doesn't feel like I'm taking advantage of anything. Transfer fees are just way to high, both for players bought & sold. There's too much money in the game for everyone it seems, but it still seems "fair."
At least in my save. /shrug
