A long christmas holiday is over, and after more than one month away from the game I was starting to get mad. Decided to scrap my Leek-game since I had been away so long. Started a new game with Havant Waterlooville, first time I manage a team in Conference South.
Was kind of sad to see my last update-thread turn into a cooking-thread for dog-meat.....hopefully this update-thread will stay meat-free....
Season 1: 2005/06
Conference South: 5th W 18, D 13, L 11, For: 52, Ag: 36, P 67
FA Cup: First Round
FA Trophy: First Round
Players in: 2 (Total fee: £0)
Players out: 0
A good start to my career as Havant & Waterlooville manager, reaching playoffs with a better goal-difference. Didn't do too well in the playoffs, losing
to Eastbourne Boro in the semi-final. The Board didn't expect more from me than rebuilding the squad, which is what I did by bringing in two players and
getting rid of none. Managed to stay in the cups for a while, which at least meant that the club made a small profit this season.
Season 2: 2006/07
Conference South: 10th W 15, D 15, L 12, For: 59, Ag: 45, P 60
FA Cup: First Round
FA Trophy: Second Qualifying Round
Brought in a lot youngsters before this season, and of the main starting eleven the season before, only two remained. Had a really good start to the season,
lost only one game in the first 15, before I finally started losing and ended the season well below the playoff-spots which I was aiming for. Made profit this season as well due to my FA Cup run.
Season 3: 2007/08
Conference South: 3rd W 22, D 12, L 8, For: 70, Ag: 39, P 78
FA Cup: Third Qualifying Round
FA Trophy: Second Qualifying Round
One of the players I signed last summer turned out to be a real gem. Several Championship clubs were willing to fork out the £1M that I demanded for him.
Enjoyed a really good season, although I was never looking likely to take one of the promotion spot. Ended the season 20 points behind the second placed team.
Just like the last time I was in the playoffs, I lost to Eastbourne Boro in the semi-finals. This time to a goal 3 minutes and 48 seconds into stoppage time....
The best moment of this season was when Oldham, mid-table strugglers in League Two, beat Chelski in the League Cup-final.
