Season 8 & 9: 2012-14

Was offered the England U-21 job in the summer of 2012, and decided to take the job and resigned from Havant & Waterlooville. The qualifying group for the Euro Ch'ship wasn't a particularly tough group, and I expected I would go through without any difficulties.

Was a little annoyed when I realized I had to go through playoffs again.

Playoff

France (a) 3-0
France (h) 0-3 (5-4 on penalties)

Thought it would be a cakewalk after beating France 3-0 away. But was getting a little nervous when I went 2-0 down after five minutes in the home match. Managed to stay in the game until the penalties, where I won 5-4, and finally won a playoff... :thup:

Euro U21 Ch'ship:

Sweden 4-0
Croatia 3-0
Bulgaria 6-1

Group A: 1st, W 3, D 0, L 0, For 13, Ag 1, P 9

Semi Final: Iceland 3-0

Final: Portugal 2-0

I thought I did ok winning Euro Ch'ship, but the FA were disappointed by the team's awful performance and I was sacked right after winning the final.... :eek:

No jobs available when I got sacked, so I just had to wait. Declared my interest for a few jobs. Fulham, who just got relegated to League 1, were the first available job, but I didn't get it.

Two jobs available of the teams that got promoted into Conference North/South. Leek Town appointed a new manager before I got a chance to apply, applied for the other club, Frickley.

Got the Frickley-job. Looking forward to this new challenge, with a transfer budget of £275K and two assistant managers. :thup:

Season 10: 2014/15

Conference North: 8th W 16, D 12, L 14, For: 67, Ag: 49, P 60
FA Cup: Second Qualifying Round
FA Trophy: Second Qualifying Round

Players in: 9 (Total fee: £60K)
Players out: 6 (Total fee: £5K)

First season in charge of Frickley turned out a little better than what the fans and directors was expecting. Apart from the first three matches, which I lost, I never looked likely to be involved in a relegation battle. Ended the season 13 points below the playoff spots. Also crashed out of both cups early on, losing to clubs outside the Conference North/South on both occasions.

With the transfer budget still over £200K at the end of the season, I will need to get in some new players. Both my goalies retires after this season, and out of my five strikers only one seems to able to aim his shots in the direction of the goal. So there is definitely room for improvement in those areas.

Season 11: 2015/16

FA Cup: Fourth Qualifying Round

Players in: 2 (Total fee: £30K)
Players out: 3 (Total fee: £0K)

Managed to persuade one of my goalies to stay in the game for another season, and brought in a 17-year old to replace the retired goalie. The striker who was able to aim his shots in the direction of the goal, continued to be the one this season as well. He scored 30 goals, and was the only player in my squad to score more than five goals in all competitions.

Had a really good start to the season and was sitting proudly on top of Conference North by christmas. Then my goalscoring striker decided to strain some ankle ligaments and have a christmas holiday lasting a month. That ruined all my hopes of winning the division, as I went for a month without scoring goals.

Ended the season six points below the playoffs, and thought I did ok improving on last season. But apparently the board, who expected me to stay clear of relegation, are disappointed with the team's performance. And with half the squad upset at the lack of first team opportunities, I might just have to leave and try to find another club with a board and players who can fully appreciate my lack of talent.
