KUTGW!

I love the Italian league, had some fantastic CM3/4 careers in Serie C2. Never managed to get my head around the concept of co-ownership though, has anyone ever bothered with that?

Co-ownership seems like playing the lottery to me. My policy is to turn down co-ownership offers flat. Not that I had many in the first three seasons. However, I brought a new DL in in the summer who has been the subject of several bids from a team who won't take no for an answer And upping his asking price doesn't work, they just keep offering the same 5k for co-ownership.

Season 08-09

Italy Serie C2/A
Montichiari

I de-stress the cup again, and am shocked when the fringe players qualify us from our group. Either the game is toying with me, or the improvements I made over the summer have been significant. The board let me play with the remainder of the cash from selling star SC last year and I buy a very decent looking DM and an international striker  Hey, San Marino caps still count I strengthen at DL too, with a player who several larger teams instantly try to buy a share in, much to my annoyance. The scouts start finding decent kids, too, so I stock up my U-20s with a couple of very nice prospects (who lead the team to an U-20s league win).

We do well in the league. The San Marino SC is a hit, and top scores for us with 25. Our biggest problem is injury. We have a couple of bad spells when several first teamers are out at the same time. Going into the run-in we've cemented a playoff spot. Just relegated Lumezzane lead by 9 points, but we close the gap to 4 with two to play. They lose, but we can only draw. 3 behind with one to play. We win, they lose. But there's one problem. Head-to-head results separate teams on equal points and we lost at their place and drew at ours. Second place it is, despite having the same number of points and a better GD.

Second place looks pretty damn good in the playoffs though. In a semifinal against Spal, the home side wins each leg 2-1, and we go through by virtue of our higher league place \o/. We get Ivrea in the final, and I'm reasonably happy with a 0-0 away, especially given my San Marino SC is away on international duty /o\. They get a dodgy penalty early in the second leg, and we trade further goals, but we're 2-1 down with time running out. We throw caution to the wind, extra men up front and take control of the game without looking like scoring. Until we put together a fast break from a poor clearance \o/. It ends 2-2. That second place comes in bloody useful again Promoted \o/.

C2/A: 2nd. On head-to-head. (We have the better GD ). Playoff semi 3-3, so being second gets us through (better league position wins, none of this away goals crap). Playoff final 2-2 on aggregate, again we win on league position. Promoted.
Cup: The stiffs/kids keep accidentally winning on penalties and we make the Quarter finals
