In my humble opinion...
The only way to solve this scouting 'problem' is to add an agent function into the next version.

Such as "Agent X asks you to give his client a trial. He describes the player as being in the mould of a XXXfamous Argentinian strikerXXX and would for some stupid reason like to play for you stupid little run down club, for a pittance of a wage whilst stacking supermarket shelves part-time."

Of course, as it turns out you waste perfectly good money, which you can't afford, on a player worse than my grandma.

Just a thought.

No agent have ever approached me. Agents are unlikely anyway in the lower leagues.

The scouting needs work, but it's decent the way it is. We need better reports about players, and more accurate reports. Just now for intance. I've been looking for a decent goalie for 4 seasons now, but nobody wants to join. Based on the stats some of the keepers found are better than the one-legged pirate I have now, but they come back saying no future in professional football, and not good enough, and sometimes as "praised" as decent.

Perhaps they don't compare the player with the current playing staff, but just compare him with what we ought to have for our reputation and league etc. In that case this needs to be fixed. In the report there should be info about his strengths and weaknesses, but perhaps few attributes revealed. Further scouting will reveal them, and a more accurate report made. I'm drewling over the thought of this
