Thing is, nothing you say will change LLM so it's pointless trying.

We've had arseholes and good guys, academics and idiots come in here and try to change LLM and they either got into LLM or left.

Truth is, either way's fair enough for us, to be honest.

This is probably hopeless, but I'll try anyhow.

The thing you have to understand to understand LLM is that you the person is not the same as you the manager in FM. You probably knows all sorts of things about football, players and tactics, but the manager in FM does not. He just got the job and has basic knowledge of football, play a basic formation and developes his knowledge from there. And he uses scouts to find players. Crazy thing is, this is basically what RL managers do. They try stuff in matches. If it works, fine - we'll try it again next time. If it fails, crap - gotta try something else.

There are probably some players that have been signed based on word of mouth, but they are few and far between. The great majority are signed because a scout gave the thumbs up. No big team will sign anybody without a scout watching them for several games.

LLM is the strive for as much realism as the game's framework allows us. This is the thing you have to understand. If you don't want to understand this, you can leave. The guidelines of LLM are chipped into rock and won't change, no matter what argument you bring forward. Past games have evolved the LLM guidelines to what they are now, and only future games will allow them to be changed.
