The best part for me is the way you get to know the players. If you start off with a multi-million quid club it's really impersonal. With llm I get to know them, I know they're a bunch of lazy bastards who are out to get me, and stifle my budding career as a manager.

At the llama level, that strong centre-back who can't shoot or dribble, and has ***** for technique but can head, tackle, and mark like a fiend really makes a difference.
Spot on Dr Hook

All the high quality players start to look the same, and it's kinda boring isn't it?

Agreed Ryn. It's also the only way that keeps you into the game. Any old Hamster can take over Man U and win the champions league year in and year out. No fun. To take a team no one has heard on in Italy to Series A (granted 10 years later) really gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Yup. While most of my careers seem to end up at that level in some country, I get easily bored and/or frustrated. Then it's resign, and either go back to some lowly conference south or Scots Div 3 side, or start a new game.

Boring is one thing, but it's hard to know which ones are good and not. It's easier when you can glance over the profile and look for two-digit numbers. When all numbers are two-digits, you actually have to know what attributes are good and not. And it takes forever to tell X apart from Y.

Couldn't agree more. I love the surprise of clicking on one of my boys stats only to find that they now have a double didgit figure beside some random stat. I become atached to my squad and feel proud when they achieve.

I'm there now. Been from Lewes to Yeovil to Millwall to Newcastle. Since the day I joined Newcastle, I've been bored and am thinking about giving Frank a call. I've never won the Premiership because its boring.

This is partly what has stopped my saves before. Not really been successful yet on the top level, but I know I would be in a few more seasons. It just gets boring and fairly easy. Money keeps rolling in, and you can easily build a good team. A good sign that Frank's your man

. What I find even worse, TBH, is having players whose stats look comparable to other good players, but they aren't rated by the assman or other clubs. I can't tell why most of the time. If a guy averages 14 or 15 in attributes, why is he far worse than another with the same? bah...better to go to the lower leagues and do as you point out

Just go after the first really bad LL club that has a vacancy. That can be kind of fun, because your reputation does allow you to get some players capable of improving the squad (until it gets wrecked by being at such a low level, that is).
