As for the game, others have said it well. It's just the way the game should be played. Period. Yes I enjoy it, but compared to what? Not playing. That's the only other option.
| Very valid

For me it's finding that gem of a player that has been in a reserve team all season and just wants to play. They come to your club and play brilliantly. The satisfaction from that gets me every time.

Pretty much what everyone else here has said. The fact that each accomplishment no matter how small seems so much more enjoyable when playing the true Llama way. I think it's because all the hard times you face as a llama make the good times so much better.
Also, I really love when a player reaches his 300th game and you can think I gave that bloke his first chance when he was 17 or I rescued him from a team's reserves and now look at him. Almost feel like you know him. :kris102:

I enjoy the realism of being a LLaMa. No new manager is going to manage a club in the Premiership, it's stupid.
I also enjoy managing foreign clubs, and the headline as you start - 'surprise appointment of...'
Building the club from scratch gives me the most satisfaction. As already stated, it's the road that is interesting, not the destination |

The feeling of winning your first cup/league in any divisions or escaping relegation by mere goal difference beats winning the CL year after year. At the same time, it makes you want to know more about the team you're managing IRL.
Currently in my game (2019/2020), managing Atletico Madrid having moved from Dorchester (till L2), Bristol Rovers (CH), Coventry ( Prem). Yet to win any league with these teams but with Madrid currently, looking forward to my first trophy.

1) Building. Has to be number one. I love building the club- getting the stadium expanded, training facilities upgraded, watching mine and the club's reputations grow.
2) The struggle. It's as rewarding to stave off a sacking or relegation as it is to win.
3) The feeling that eventually comes of knowing that I am one or two good signings away from a promotion, and then getting excited when my scouts find a guy and he agrees to play for me.
4) Getting the most out of a shoestring budget. That feeling of pride and accomplishment when I've made every pound count for something valuable in terms of wages and transfers.
5) Finally, the ability to really find players who can do a specific job. Once I get into the rare air of a top division with European football, huge wage budgets, and multi-million £ transfer kitties, I find that all the players start to look alike and I can't tell why one is any better than another. At the llama level, that strong centre-back who can't shoot or dribble, and has ***** for technique but can head, tackle, and mark like a fiend really makes a difference.

Fir me it is the only way to play the game. I couldn't and haven't played any other way.
I also enjoy the company of like minded people in the forum.

As said before.. There's no other way..
But there are few, dire moments that I enjoy it. I suck at it, have a record of managing 5 years in a row before getting fired. Somehow most of the time I'm unable to improve the squad..
The few times I do manage to take my team to the top I am unable to hold them in there, players loose confidence and I end up getting sacked.
So do I enjoy it, in the way of playing: yes yes yes...
IN the way of achieving succes: dunno, never happened.

Looking forward to an away trip at Sheffield Wednesday in the 3rd round of the cup, and only getting beaten 2-0! [\bragging].
Keeping Lewes in League 1 despite the 4 team relegation zone.
What I hate is leaving a club to see all my work undone. 6 years after leaving Lewes with money in the bank and a decent squad in League 1, they're now below Conference South in the 'NPL' whatever that is. They're still 'rich' though.
