That book is absolutely dire. I wouldn't bother finishing it - I did, but to this day don't know why I bothered. One of the worst books I've ever read.

What is it that you enjoy most about being an LLM'er ? Post #22
Being a yankee who loves soccer or "football" from my time in college, I've followed english soccer from a distance for a long time. Witht he advent of the internat, I've been able to readopt my original favorite team, the Potters from Stoke City---(I live in Cleveland, Ohio--check out the history of American soccer for the reason why)
When I started playing CM o1/02, I instinctively played the LLama way wothout knowing it. I didn't have the innate knowlege then of the beautiful game. But I find the game just a waste of time if its not played as a Llama. Now, as I've learned more about the "culture" of how the game is lived, I can't even conceive of playing any other way.

For me it's a variety of things. Right now it's getting that one point, even though I haven't taken all three yet this season. I Like knowing that even though I may not stay up this season, my players will be better for it and next time we'll likely stick.
I love the struggles of managing my roster. Do I keep my key player that I won't be able to re-sign, or do I sell him and maybe get relegated?
I also love the forum, I don't post much, but I always enjoy spending some time reading what y'all do.

As for the game, others have said it well. It's just the way the game should be played. Period. Yes I enjoy it, but compared to what? Not playing. That's the only other option.

Yeah, agree with above posts - the fairness, the challenge, the sheer feeling of achievement etc - but there's also this sort of secret club thing going on.
Despite the fact that the rules are clearly stated in the header, it's like the whole thing is a mystery to the outside world.
And, on a side note, when do you truly become qualified to call youself a LLM? Forum dabblers like me aspire to be one or should it should just be for the real hardcore?

As mentioned already, it's the sheer happiness of getting places with a team you've built from scratch. It's the road that's interesting, not where it's leading you
