What scout is likely to head off to europe for a month to look at crap players for a wage of £20 a week?

No idea about your question, though. GQ would be the best place to ask.

Yep.

When I manage abroad I always hire a Scottish scout to try to pick up Scots to play for my Team (not that they often sign).

I reckon this is realistic because I only use him to scout Scotland and use him as my "home knowledge" substitute for links at home.

Doesn't have to be a conference north team - I suspect Ian means when he's higher up the leagues and it's likely that he'll be able to get some players as talented as the Scots to come and play for him.

Shouldnt there be costs in sending out a scout to say holland? I mean there would be the flight, accomendation and misc, maybe to make it a bit more realistic money should be used for scouting abroad.

And while I'm on the topic, do you have to pay money to spend a player to a specialist?

I wouldn't expect the scouting thing to be challenging for the top of SI's league of of priorities. It might be a relegation candidate.

As for the 'Specialist' issue...
There are a couple of threads floating around GQ that suggest there is a payment made, snuck in amongst the nefarious 'Other' costs, along with your Tea Lady's wages.
