I always give HT team talks, if the assman is as useless at them as he is at everything else, just imagine the damage he could do!

| That was my experience with it. I ended the friendly and had a nice list of SLT's next to players. Went in to see what the problem was, and it said something to effect "Doesn't like the way you talk to the team on matchday." It wasn't me, you stupid donkeys! At any rate, it might have been a one-off thing, but I never have taken the chance again.

I always do it both half and full time. Also gives me a chance to vent my anger at the players if we're losing
I am looking forward to the introduction of pre-match team talks and believe they will make a great addition.

Heh, my players probably think I'm the grouchiest s.o.b. alive on the basis of my team talks.
I'm almost pathologically averse to praising my team at half time and it's a rare old day (5-0 upwards) where I'll give them unreserved credit.
A poor match, however, and my fury doth descend.
But seriously, my Ass Man is so useless I'd be surprised if he knows my player's names well enough to call the register at half time.
It's true that you do sort of get a feel for what result each option is likely to bring, so in that respect it's quite handy, but not the most realistic aspect of the game.

I wouldn't let my assman touch that thing. No way!
That said, I'm not entirely sure what's best to say in what situation, but sometimes they do good, sometimes they feck up. I'll never praise them at half-time though, unless we are ten up or something. I've tried that a few times too many, and they always get really complacent in the second half

If we do crap I lay it on them like a ton of bricks. Shoe-kicking, brick-throwing - who can tell the difference |

Tried it, no matter what I said we'd always crumble down in the 2nd half so gave up trying.

I do it, it only takes a few seconds and I think it is realistic that the manager would give the tam a geeup.
I would like a pre match talk option. With one of the options being Henry V at Agincourt and another being a Churchillian speech. |

Definitely, I feel that it is essential. I am convinced that we have won a significant number of games in the second half due to my team talk.
It may well be wishful thinking but I never miss a team talk.

I use 'pleased' or 'delighted' if we are winning well and playing well, never had an unexplained comeback yet. Sometimes they seem to get cocky and let the other team back in, but not too often.
And another thing, the 'no team talk' thing should really have more effect. If you were sitting in the rooms after giving your all and losing and the boss doesn't even show up, I mean you wouldn't be so keen for training the next week would you?
