Always hard to decide if I should include a goalie or not, but usually fall down on nay now. Untill next time the goalie gets off on a stretcher that is
I actually have a DC/ST, and he's starting to play quite well. Not really used the chap much, so perhaps he was good all along..
DR/WBR/MR are crap. I've got several variants of those now, and none are much good. Not good enough on the offense for wingers, and too crap on the defense for fullbacks :thdn:

I've got one youngster in on loan who is a DL/WB/ML/ST, and he's actually pretty bloody good at the DL and ST parts of his job, and I've even chucked him in as straight ML when I've been short (small squad, lots of injuries, Conference fixture congestion, you know the deal). But he does tend to start most games as a ST if he's going to start.
I happen to like the versatile players, but more in terms of defenders who can play both sides, or midfielders who can play anywhere across the park - never been a great fan of D/M mixes, and AM/Fs just confuse me....

I was going to say more but that would be tipping
Mr Versatile is described as a defender, his natural positions are DRC, DMC, MRLC. I have played him at DRLC, DMC, WBR, MRLC. He appears to best at DR, although he has scored a couple of screamers from MR.

Agree with you there. Due to not having a decent MR I had to retrain a AMLC. It took a good year, but now he can play all over the place in midfield. That I love. If somebody gets injured I can just stick him in the hole.
Have a few statswise decent AMC/Fs, but I never know where to put them so the specialists get to play instead. I suppose they'll get tired of the reserves in the end, and get sold.

I've just checked my U23s and found out a player who will bring me pain in following years
FM lists him as versatile player. He is natural at DR, DC, DM, WBR and MR, accomplished at DL and WBL, competent at ML, MC, AML, AMC and AMR and akward at ST.
How long will it be until I find his best position?

I've got 5 players (3 left, 2 right) who can play all the way up and down their respective flanks. I'm starting to get really annoyed with my one remaining out and out right winger because I keep forgetting he's playing and moving him to right back during the game where he generally fails miserably. Going to have to get rid of him I think, its obviously his fault I don't check players names when I'm changing my tactics.
