Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, down to Junior's Farm where we wanna lay low...
B.A's Staines Town were promoted to the Conference South without a manager, so Ian J Ferguson Jr. took them over at the beginning of Season 2031/32.
The "old man" would be so proud...if he didn't have dementia
Season 2031/32
On June 20th 2031, Ian J Ferguson Jr. followed in his "father's" footsteps and moved into management, taking over at managerless Staines Town in the Conference South (I was unemployed but Staines came up without a manager so I just took them over).
Things started badly, we had an AssMan, a Coach, a Physio and a Scout, but within a week Woking had come in and nicked the Coach, necessitating a tour of the "Unemployed, UK and Ireland, Job Coach" filtered Staff screen and I picked up a (drunken) Irishman and a (fighting) Scotsman to aid our effort.
The scout eventually identified a quintet of likely-lads, two games into the season, so we signed them and went into the remainder with a squad of 30, including 3 goalies.
League, we did well, better than I could have hoped for. Last game of the season saw us beat 9-man Hendon to switch places with them, 6th to 5th, and playoffs for promotion (65 points, 45 behind winners Woking). We beat Welling in the semi and Kidderminster in the final (9 men again, Frank smiled upon us) and (undeservedly) gained promotion to the Conference National at the first attempt.
FA Trophy, we turned up.
FA Cup, we got to the 3rd round proper where we met Norwich. We went 2-0 up and it stayed this way to the 91st minute, and they scored in the 91st and 93rd minute to take us back to Carrow Road.
Replay, we went 4-1 up before half time, and it stayed this way to the 83rd minute when they scored 3 in the last 7 minutes (last goal in the 94th minute) to take us to extra time, and they ended up 5-4 winners.
I was miffed.
Average attendance: 979 (up from 571 the previous season)
Wage: £100p/w, offered 4yr extension at £70p/w, negotiated £120p/w for 1 year.
Season 2032/33
Our Lady of Blesséd Playoffs, I offer my thanks and my body as sacrifice.
To begin, we had no players promoted from the Youth Academy, I sent the scouts out to look for youngsters and eventually, after about three months, we signed up 15 youths and old guys. Two of the old guys and one of the kids turned out fairly decent players and spent virtually the whole season, barring injuries, in the first team.
League, we managed to finish 4th in the League and beat Woking and Aldershot to win promotion via the playoffs yet again...I'm not proud. York City won the Conference National.
Alas, Marc Bosman's curse struck and we lost our DL, our backup GK and our 21 goal SC to bigger and "better" Clubs.
FA Trophy, some kids turned up and were sent home at the sore end of a 3-0 humping by Woking.
FA Cup, we got through to the first round and were tumbled out by Dagenham and Redbridge.
Average attendance: 1670
Wage: Offered 4 year extension at £325p/w, negotiated a 1 year deal at £425p/w.
Training facilities upgraded from "awful" to "average".
Season 2033/34
"Playoff? Keep your deerty, feelthy playoff, Gringo!"
Promoted, emulating my "old man" with Hinckley in three consecutive seasons, playoff, playoff, straight promotion.
Two players were promoted from the academy, but they look like real duffers. The scouts found us four players in all, freebies, and we sold a guy for £1.7m...a really good looking forward who'd played 69 games for us and scored 23 goals...to Villa, and he got one single sub appearance in the whole season.
We sold another guy, a very good (for League 2) DR for £2.5m at the end of the season.
We have three regulars aged 38, 35 and 34 who will most probably retire this season. I only mention this because they've been at the Club for 20, 13 and 17 seasons respectively. SI have to introduce testimonials.
Two other guys were promoted at the end of this season, one looks like a prospect.
Vans Trophy, cuffed in the first round by Colchester
League Cup, I have no idea how but we got an easy ride through the rounds to the semi, where we were utterly humiliated by Arsenal.
FA Cup, up against the "old man's" Hinckley Town, now managed by a Dutch bloke, chance to look good...and they whored us 5-1.
Average attendance: 2120
Wage: Offered 4 year extension at £2400p/w, negotiated a 1 year deal at £3000p/w

A little flavour is good, dont knock it. The Ian Jr idea is good, may have to do something similar to my own save when I feel Iam getting a little long in the tooth and the menory starts to fade. Now who was it that got sent off last game, hmm cant seem to remember. Fine all the bastards I'll get right one eventually.
