Oh right, that happened in real life. Shock results have nothing to do with Scotland's AI hiring practices.

Yes, because Israel drawing with France is totally comparable to a bunch of semi-pro no-hopers getting what would be their first ever international wing.
Besides, I was trying to be funny (and obviously failed miserably), lighten up people.

Yep. Absolutely unrealistic. As unrealistic as the Faroe Islands beating a team that has been 3rd and 4th at World Cups. Oh wait. That did happen IRL too.

Sheesh-lighten up. I play by the LLM rules but please people--ITS A GAME! Made by SI. Its the best Management game out there. And if that game thinks I deserve to manage a relegation threatened Socttish DIv 1 side, then just like it thinks my stellar tactics work, I'm going to take the offer.
If FM 2007 fixes the job offer module, then next time, I won't get the offer.

With apologies to Nobby for taking the job offer........
Season 4 2008-2009 Scottish Div 1
DunFermline W 13 D8 L15 GD +6 7th Place

Only 3 points clear of the drop in the Conference National, Mansfield come calling right after Christmas. They offer me 550 per week--ALOT more than the 95 per week I'm making at the time. But with a wage bill waay over the top and no money for transfers, I turn them down despite the fact they are professional and have much better facilities. But after the New Year, I get 2 very enticing offers: Mid-Table Seria B Cesena offer me 1100/wk and a transfer budget of 1.6 Million. Not bad for my 95/week 20000 transfer budget. But Dunfermline Athletic in the land of Kilts Division 1 offer me 2900/week and a transfer budget of 700,000. They're about 15000/month in the red on salaries, so that needs to come down. Despite that, I decide to take the offer and move North. (In all the years I'v played this game, its the first time I move out of England) I leave Maidenhead in 11th place and turning a profit of about 15,000/month.
Dunfermline are barely above the drop, so my work is cut out for me. I am able to stave off the drop, but the finances are still ka-ka (What my 2 year old calls poop). Best player is my inheirited Italian ST although my other starting Scottish ST is POTY. As I go into the off season, getting a handle on the finances seems to be a huge challenge.

2009 World Cup Qualifying-Kilts
Finished 2d in Group behind England but ahead of Finland, Estonia, Israel, and Faroe Islands.
Drew Russia for the playoff for a berth in the Finals.
First leg away: Russia 3:0 Scotland. Ugly, ugly, ugly is the only way to describe the game.
Return leg first half was very sluggish. (Jet Lag?) I changed formations replacing a midfielder with an extra attacker. Results? 5 GOALS!!!!!! Scotland win 5:3 agg to qualify for the Finals!!!!!!!!
Again the fans sign my name in praise
(See top of thread)

I read that as Portsmouth winning the European Champions' League for a moment.
