As for, what are greys? Grey players appear if your squad if lacking depth and also populate your reserve and youth teams. In FM06 you are able to sign them as real players

A player that is put on your first team and his name is grey. He isnt a contract player i beleive and is called up in emergency situations ie keeper injuries.

Stan thats in real life though, i thought you just couldnt mention players in the game, sorry then didnt realise it was that strict.

btw I know about players who come up in grey type but i just didnt know they were called greys, seems obvious now however one did not come up on my squad they have done in the past but not this time.

The one time I went into a match without any fit keepers, them thar Greys were neither them nor thar. My right-back on that occasion wasn't as successful as 5times*****'s.

Treat is as a 'quirk' of the many exciting 'features' in the Portuguese leagues SI may be amending for FM07.

Anyway, a grey won't show up if you've got injured players in your squad, iirc. If you have 3 injured keepers, move them to the reserves and, hey presto, a grey keeper will appear. My thoughts are you could use him for a game or two, but any more than that and you relly should sign him. Pants or not.
