Might as well put this thread to some use other than postboosting.
Elgin City 2005/06 Third Division
Brought 9 players into the squad throughout the year, including two player coaches (4 in August, 5 in January). The striker (target man type) signed from East Fife on a free was brilliant, scoring 20 in 34. Unfotunately, my next highest scorer was 9.

We were as high as second for a short spell and ended 9th.
Elgin 06/07 Third Division
Our target man again leads the way with 23 goals. Brought in 0 players in the offseason, opting instead to shed some dead weight and promote some youths (a D/ML proving to be a star). Cut the wage bill more than in half which put us in decent financial shape. Signed 3 players, two strikers and a DL WBL/AML. It pays off. We score 1 more goal than last season, but we conceded 23 less. We manage to scrape 4th spot and promotion granted via the playoffs.
Elgin 07/08 Second Division
It was always going to be difficult, but the fact that I only managed two signings in the summer (A DMRC and an MC) made it difficult. Scouts are finding lots of players, but none who were a vast improvement (in the short term) over the players we had. 7 wins out of 36 is grim, but due to our G.D. of -27 and a draw on the final day, we finish 9th. We cruise through the first round of the playoffs 6-2, but collapse in the final 3-2 to East Fife (I think).
