Elgin City 2017/18 SPL redux

The season hasn't begun and already it looks grim. One of my strikers has decided not to resign and to join lowly Hearts instead (fortunately he tailed off and isn't my first choice anyway...I mean that, honest. ).

Next sign of bad news is yet another stadium expansion. How can that be bad news? Well, they've decided to spend 4.5 million on 5,500 seats. We were 3.5 in the black. Now we're in the read and I've been given a "paltry" 800k for transfers.

That and we're now groundsharing due to this debacle at Pinefield, home to New Elgin. Seating capacity: 1500.

Feck!

I think we'll need a strong UEFA cup run.

Elgin City 2018/2020

Final days. We've just crashed out of the UEFA Cup in the quarter finals to Ajax in injury time. we lost 3-2 away and drew 3-3 at home. DC injured.

Final day of the SPL is next. Away to Celtic. They're top of the league with 68 points. 20-8-4 64 33. We're second with 67 points. 21-4-7 82 44. We've played Celtic 7 times. We're 2-3-2 14 15. 1 loss in a cup match in 2015, the other loss was the first league match. We've not lost to them since.

I'm taking bets. Will play now and will report back tomorrow.

For those interested, the ref won the game for Celtic. [/thierry henry]. Sent off my DC in the 18th minute for a shirt pull and awarded a penalty. Celtic win 4-2.

5 games to play. Celtic up next...we end with Rangers.

All that drama built up for nothing.
