Elgin City First Division 2013/14

With a healthy budget, I signed some players. It didn't help. We finished 8th. Survival! Which in the scheme of things, is just as good as finishing second, just a bit less money.

My third AssMan in as many years is offered a job elsewhere. .

Elgin City First Division 2014/15

My new AssMan said our team had no hope of avoiding relegation, so I spent big(ish). Okay it was 160k pounds (50k more than last season) on four players. As a result I solved my MR problem, bought a 16 year old D/M C, a 20 yr old ML and a backup DR as I couldn't find a sufficient 1st team DR.

We had a great season. Our best yet. Most wins to date, 22, most goals, 76 league goals, and 71 points! And it still wasn't ****ing good enough. Hamilton win the leageu with 78 points. We had many chances to pick up points in the closing weeks, but when Hamilton lost, we lost.

We won the Challenge Cup. Which seems to amount to winning two games.

Need to fill a few gaps and we should go up. If not, I'm moving on.

Our friendly against Germany was cancelled.

International break

After a stellar career as USA U-20 Manager:

0-0-0

Scotland have asked me to manage them to the European Cup Finals. They'd played 5 matches in qualifying so far and were second or third, I think, behind leaders Azerbaijan and someone else...Croatia...Germany is 4th or 5th.

Surprisingly (or perhaps not) I'm also instated as the manager for the U-21s which made for some confusion when trying to play my first match in charge. Is that normal?

U-21s are top of the qualifying group by miles.

Scotland results:
4-2 win over Azerbaijan (however that is spelled).
5-0 win over Germany.

Scotland are now top of the group.

Elgin City 2015/16 First Division

It's been a long time coming, what with the online clan game taking up most of my time, but finally finished this season.

I can't say I remember much about it, except for the fact that with three games to go in the season we clinched promotion!

Finally...

We've only now turned professional. Our training facilities are top notch with a youth academy and the board decided (without my asking) to increase the size of the stadium. I also managed to double my salary.

Scotland Euro Champ. in Greece
Our group was Serbia, Turkey and England. After a dire 0-0 draw with the Serbs it didn't look good. We managed a 1-1 draw with England and needed a victory over Turkey to be guranteed progression. We won easily 3-1.

Knock out stages saw beat Sweden and I've blanked on the other team....ah! Holland (an active league too).

We lost to England in the final 2-1.

I assume the stadium expansion is due to the fact that the SPL has aminimum capacity requirement...I think.

I'd be surprised if we made it to that min capacity though. I think we'd still be under 5k with the expansion. I'll have to check.

I must admit, it really wasn't much trouble. We handled Celtic (even received much praise from their boss) a few times, struggled with Rangers a few times, but had our fair share of wins against both sides and most other teams in the league.

We should've finished second, but drew a game late on that we should've won so in our first season in the SPL we finished 3rd behind champs Celtic and also-ran Rangers.

Not bad.
