Elgin City Second Division 2012/13
Offseason signings prove difficult again. Manage to bring in a DM WB AM L (or something like that.
) on a free and an AM L from Aberdeen for 5k. This should improve our midfield, but we lack depth. We were neither good nor bad through the early season. Win some, lose some, draw some.
At the end of October we go on a run of 6 wins in a row. Some key signings in January, a D RC from Raith for 8k as backup and a DC from Carlisle for 10k. We go on a five game losing streak.
Time to ring in more changes so my D RC ST is promoted to Striker, which, apparently is his best position as he goes on a scoring run. Who knew?
We come close but can only manage second, once again. 63 points, Montrose win the league.
My 30 goal striker from the previous season is now a 40 goal scorer. 38 in the league.
Stenny in the playoffs and the first game at home is a Kostis-like shootout that ends 4-4. I was up by two goals twice. Fortunately we win 3-2 away. Recently relegated Ross County in the finals. It starts well. We win a penalty and their defender is sent off. Even better, we score the penalty. Home free. Except for the fact that two minutes later their FC scores a thirty yard strike. I anticipate losing in penalties. Fortunately, I inspire the team at HT and we go on to win comfortably, 3 - 1.
