Elgin City Second Division 10/11

Third time is a charm, right?

We manage 3 less wins (14), but 7 more draws (13) and our defense has a stellar year. We allow 38 goals in 36 matches. Unfortunately, we score only 53. Still, only two points less than last season and on the final day we manage to steal third place.

Playoffs
Clyde in the first round of the playoffs. In 8 previous matches with Clyde, we'd won twice, but those two wins were the last two matches we played. We ran out lucky winners at home 1-0. In the second leg, we were ran all over the park. We faced a 3 - 1 deficit in the 90th minute when my superstar D/M L lashes in a 20 yard effort after a corner had bounced around the area. We're through on away goals. \o/

Final against Kilmarnock. We're on superb morale. Regular time ends 2-2, but we're a bit hard done by. Dominate, but after each goal, Kilmarnock answers straight back. We go up 3 - 2 in extra time. \o/

Kilmarnock equalize two minutes later. We lose in the shootout.

Brechin make a massive 650k pound offer for my D/M L in the offseason. His min release clause is 500k. Happy for the funds, but need the player. To my delight, he rejects Brechin. \o/ loyalty. \o/

Probably is a bug. Clearly, he wants to stay with his ambitious manager. We're going up this year. You heard it here first.

I'm not so sure that's really a bug, but since I don't know how it works I'm not sure. Would a team really know what someone's min fee release clause is? And 500k is the minimum it would take to release him from contract, not the maximum, so if an AI manager doesn't know, they might think 650k is a fair price (foolish, I know) and that's what they offer which activates the clause.

I've always found it odd we could see someone's min release clause. But maybe managers will always know a release clause. Especially with agents likely to leak that info.

It may in fact be a different sort of bug as once someone enquired about the player and I said 650k. So that's set as his asking price. When he signed a new contract the min fee clause was 500k, but asking price stayed at 650k. It's more likely the bug of AI managers offering more for average players than they should.
