East Stirling 16/17 - Scottish Premier League, and Scotland
Signed 4 players for a combined £450k, and sold 2 for a combined £1m. The league performance was rather poor compared to last season, finishing 3rd with a good 15 points less than what we had previous year. This season's excitement came in our first venture into the Champion's League. We were drawn with Chelsea, Schalke and Lyon. We drew 1-1 at Lyon, then lost 1-0 at home to Chelsea and then again by the same score away to Schalke. Just as well we turned up for all the return games then. 2-1 at home to Schalke followed by a 5-0 hounding of Lyon meant a draw at Stamford Bridge would see us through. We won 2-1 and set up a 2nd round tie with Barcelona. The first leg was at home, and we amazingly won 5-0, then lost 2-0 away. We met Chelsea again in the quarters, but this time they proved to good.

Scotland
We were entered into the Confederations Cup with a group of Brazil, France and Kuwait, which we topped. We then beat USA in the semis and toppled hosts Italy 2-0 in the final to win the thing.
