East Stirling 12/13 - Scottish First Division

Only one player brought in, an AM R, ST released from Man Utd. This was definitely one of the most enjoyable seasons so far. Won the first game, didn't win in the next 6 and ended up bottom for a couple of games. A good run in the Challenge Cup took us to our 4th final. And our 4fth defeat. 2nd Division Raith turned it around from 1-0 to us to 2-1 to them in the last 15 minutes to win. Anyway, that cup defeat coincided with us starting to piece together some good league form which took us out of the relegation/playoff spots and into midtable. Our 3rd round exit from the Scottish Cup really kicked us off, as we went the next 14 games without being beaten in whichwe recorded a 6-1, a 6-0 and a 7-0. We won the league, and therefore promotion to the SPL, by 4 points. The star of the show was our striker signed from Spartans for £5k last season. He got 35 goals in 41 starts. Finally turned proffessional upon promotion.

Scottish Cup: 1-2 Hibs (SPL) (A) - 3rd Round
Challenge Cup: 1-2 Raith Rovers (D2) (N) - Final
League Cup: 0-2 Rangers (SPL) (H) - 3rd Round

Some strange happenings include Man City winning the UEFA and FA Cups but sacking their manager and Swansea finishing FA Cup runners up, and getting a UEFA Cup spot, but being relegated to Coca Cola League One. Villareal win the Champions League.

East Stirling 13/14 - Scottish Premier League

4 new signings totalling £325k and 10 players released.

Wow, high-scoring season. First game was a 4-4 and also had a 6-3 victory and two 5-4 wins (including one against Celtic) and a 3-3 in which we were 3 down after 10 minutes.. We did lose 4-0, 4-1, 5-1 and 6-2 in games but that's beside the point. Goals goals goals. To be honest relegation never looked likely, surprisingly, as our squad was very thin and we had a lot of injuries. After only 16 games we were a whole 20 points from bottom, and a place in Europe seemed possible. 3rd in the League at the turn of the year but failure to win in January saw us slide to 6th. Bounced around between 3rd and 6th until the split. Finished 5th after it. Had the honour of playing 20 away games an only 18 at home.

The 3 best players decide they want to leave seeing as they have ambitions of winning things. Cheeky buggers.

Noticed that Celtic sing YNWA after scoring a goal. That got very tiresome during our 6-2 defeat... We had our very first international this season as 20 yo midfielder comes off the bench for Scotland.

Scottish Cup: 2-2 Dundee (SPL) (A) - 3rd Round Replay (penalties)
League Cup: 0-1 Dundee Utd (SPL) (N) - Semi Final

France won the 2014 World Cup final 1-0 versus Germany, and I was offered the Scotland post. I accepted, and was astonished to find we were 14th in the rankings.

Eek! 77 conceded? Well, at least your offense is just fine in the SPL!

East Stirling 14/15 - Scottish Premier League, and Scotland

Bought 6 players for £220k, sold 8 for £4.1m. We also get the stadium upgraded by 1000 seats.

Earned UEFA Cup entry due to Scotland being top of the fair play table, and all the extra cup games led to an erratic league performance culminating in another 5th place finish. Good cup runs in every competition though, as we bundle our way to CIS Cup glory by winning every round on penalties then beat Hearts 2-1 in the final. We get good draws in the Scottish Cup including 2nd division Gretna in the semi's allowing us to make another final, only this time we lose, 2-1, to Rangers.

In the UEFA Cup we managed to record an 8-0 victory over Dnipro (9-1 on agg) to make the group stage, and then beat IFK Goteburg 8-5! We qualified 2nd from a group including Goteburg, Schalke, Sampdoria and Partizan, then beat Sparta Prague 6-2 on aggregate to set up a tie against Arsenal. We lose 4-1 then draw 0-0 to exit the cup.

Without a doubt the star of the show was an 18 yo striker from the youth setup who got 47 goals in 50 games for us.

League Cup: 2-1 Hearts (SPL) (N) - Final (Winners)
UEFA Cup: 1-4 (A), 0-0 (H) - Arsenal - 2nd Knockout Round

One more thing, Berwick signed 45 players this season. 41 of them were goalkeepers. The manager got sacked.

Scotland

Russia, Germany, Cyprus and Liechtenstein are the group. 0-0 v Russia (H), 2-0 v Cyprus (A), 2-0 v Liechtenstein (H), 1-0 v Germany (A), 1-4 v Russia (A).

Friendlies were 6-0 Latvia (H), 4-1 Faroes (A)
