Just because my lazy copy & pasting screwed it up, the actual final line for 2007/2008 should be: Quote: | Scottish 2nd Div: 3rd, 17-6-13, 56-50, 57pts
| Still a good season, but oddly enough 17 wins and 13 losses doesn't place you on top of the table.

Elgin City - Scottish Second Division
I've really hit a wall in my ability to improve the team, despite a record £29k transfer budget and £4.5k wage budget. Any player my scouts regard as "excellent" is completely uninterested in Elgin. I was unable to find an adequate right full back or creative central midfielder, so the team's current options will have to do.
The season started poorly, with Challenge & League Cup losses to Ayr. Elgin twice pushed Ayr all over the pitch, only to lose by a single goal each time. As a silver lining, the team was able to concentrate on league play and quickly found their form. By winter, Elgin had clawed their way to the top of the table. I was especially pleased with a 10-man come from behind victory over Stranraer. Fared better in the Scottish Cup, ousting Premier side Livingston 5-1 before losing to Kilmarnock in the fourth round.
The team slumped badly around February, going winless for seven games and slipping third. Elgin recovered to capture 19 points in their last 7 games to overtake Patrick Thistle for the league lead on the final game of the season. Turned down the Gretna job in March. I still feel rather loyal to Elgin City, and didn't feel the club had reached its potential in the Second Division. Scottish 2nd Div: 1st, 19-9-8, 71-47, 66pts Scottish Cup: 4th Round by Kilmarnock League Cup: 1st Round by Ayr Challenge Cup: 1st Round at Ayr Old Firm: Ranges win SPL, Celtic win Scottish & League Cups

Doesn't mean I can't get myself fired. But correct, I won't jump at another offer that comes my way.
