While playing my current Grange Quins save (Go wales!) I noticed my team had both a competing reserve team and an under 19's  This being something of a novelty for me I decided to take full control of them both.
And aside from making the season take approximatly 3 times as long I'm really enjoying the challenge (although half of the u19 and 1/4 of the reserves are grey).
Which piqued my interest how many of you enjoy the full bodied experience of total control over your teams? Or are you happy to just look over the first team and overwork your underpaid assistant managers?
I don't usually manage all 3, but I find some benefit in running the Reserves, so I can see which players might do my first team a bit of good.
As a side note, although my Reserves are technically in a competitive league, the quality of the opposition is so dire, I may as well just be playing friendlies.
I don't really pay much attention to them, aside from occasionally checking to see if anyone is playing well and could maybe do a job in the first team.
It goes the other way too. I had a goalie in my U18s, who didn't get a game all year because he was kept out by a grey player! Don't let the door hit you on the way out son...
I leave the reserves to my Ass Man and the youths to the coach with the best youngster stat.
If in Conference North, you don't have a reserve side anyway, so the Ass Man gets the youths.
