Having just bought my first ever FM I was wondering whether all the teams in the game have financial issues. Every team I take over at the start of the game immediately begins losing money; Man United, Feyenoord, Zilina, Albecete, the size of the club only seems to increase the problems.
I'm aware of ways around this- reserve team fixtures etc. but I would like to know if there are any 2nd tier teams in Europe that don't start out by recording monthly losses.
Any help would be much appreciated.

i doubt there is due to the loss coming as its the summer break, meaning no friendly or games i.e no gate receipts, yet paying wages, its tottally normal in the game and real life a couple of friendlys and couple of league game and back to normal

I did take account of that and had initially hoped this was the problem. However, the problem persists even when the season is underway. Albecete (Span. 2nd div.) are losing approx. £300,000 a month with a wage bill of 270,000. So the only way I could break even is by sacking my first team and my reserves.
Feyenoords losses were much smaller and I could keep the bank acount stable by selling a player every transfer window but it was still impossible to make money and as far as I could tell we were losing money every time we played a match- and no it wasn't because of squad bonuses.
I realise that a great many teams do lose money in real life and have no problem with finances being challenging. However, thois is the first time I've ever played FM and I have enough challenges to be getting on with for now.
As you say the finances are always out of whack the first month so it takes until October to figure out whether you're operating at a monthly loss or not. Time is limited so ideally I'd like to find clubs that I know will have healthy finances when I take over.

Don't worry about making a loss during the season.
the prize money at the end of the season covers everything and your in the green by £10m mimimum. (if your ManU or someone like that)

But if you want a good team with healthy finances, try Arsenal.
The board told me the finances are so good, they might sack the accountant and give me the job!!

Good to know.
I know the losses at Man. Utd. were down to those vast loan repayments.
Smaller teams though, that are never likely to win anything, yet have reasonable finances, must exist. Hey, Norwich manage it!
