if their a strong minded player and can prove a point then they may just go out there and be brilliant.

i've expected a win on many occasions and done well after half time.
sometimes they collapse though.

i've expected better performances after halftime as well or to not loose concentration when liverpool are 1=-0 up at half time to chelsea and they have good responses. 'regained focus' etc.
My squad personality is 'highly determined' and yet when I demand a win the whole team plays mediocrely.

Team talk does work, you're losing 1-0 at half time , you say 'I want to see more from you' what do you know its 2-1!! Also you get players praising you for your team talks after the match.

The frustrating thing is when you replay a match (as I've had to do whenever my PC feels like closing itself down) you change nothing, team selection, tactics and team talk etc. You say the same thing and get a completely different outcome.

It makes my hair go grey, it really does.

I actually believe team talks make a lot of sense. now I ain't saying there isn't room for improvement (mostly on Ass Man interaction) but they are pretty strait forward once you get the drift.

The way I look at it, most players hear your team talk all the time, so unless you need to shake them your talks should be mellow - mostly incouragement & to a lesser extent ( usually when playing at home) "for the fans" - which is also good for knock out fixtures such as Cup finals.
I might give an individual "relax" talk to a less experienced/new player.

The other options should be used (IMO) only in the correct situation - based on team & player form, the identity of the oponent, home adventage, ect.

duting the half-time talk I ecourage players who are having a 6-7 game if i'm drawing or up a little with individual "pleased" for players with 8's (unless unprofesional). I will only use the other options when I doing exeptionally well, or losing a game I should win.

well that's my two bits, hope it helps

'Pick up where you left off' is a good one to use if someone scored a hattrick or got a 10 rating.

we now have the option to ask the ass man what team talk should be, well my ass man always says "for the fans", and it doesnt motivate any of my players!!

Ass Man team talk is quite useful.

I remember I was winning 1-0 at half time, he said 'Disappointing' I was a bit confused because we were winning.

Tried it anyway, ended up winning 3-0! Ass Man been a great help.
