I cant help but feel that this thread has gone slightly off topic, and before it gets any stupider can I just say that beer is great regardless of were it is from. Now if you boys wish to carry on arguing please take it out side and settle your differences with some good old fashioned fisty-cuffs

Again, season one, ~Bayern have no champ league football. Porto do. Hense him wanting to go there.
And the Chairman thing is a problem with any club you play, its a bug that needs fixing.
| And Luca Toni, Franck Ribery, Owen Hargreaves, Miroslav Klose are just 2nd rate players, or what? Especially Owen Hargreaves ( I know he´s plaing for ManU now) who is also British and had, AFAIK, lots of offers when he was a youngster from British clubs, chose Bayern instead.
The game is biased towards the British clubs and towards the socalled "big clubs" of recent years, i.e. Porto.
This is IMHO the only major flaw of the game, because it makes it harder to play with non-British clubs in general and non-English clubs in particular.

That's because Premiership clubs have very aggressive players. And because of this they are less affected by the closing down issues.
Bayern don't attract the same talent as the english clubs because their lack of champions league football in the recent years. When Hargreaves joined them they were doing fairly well you know. Right now they aren't doing that well, neither in the league nor the cups. If you change that and wait a season you'll probably be more attractive for the clubs..
I would also like to point out that value and reputation is an issue also confirmed with the game pre and post patch. And will be resolved with the final patch.

as to the bayern thing, its a commen problem with the way FM handles rep, most players will want to leave a club with less than 9000 rep (i.e. bayern) for a CL and title challenging side (such as porto) and likewise foreign players from a fairly high rep club (i.e villa et al) will be reluctant to move.
Similarly i assume this is the club you started the game with, in which case you will not have sufficient managerial exp to attract some players.
