I understand that introducing a 3D match engine could be very difficult, but it would make the media interaction over whether a penalty was a penalty or not much easier to work with. At the moment it seems a bit of a lottery as to whether the FA will keep silent or fine you. If you could see the incident in a 3D engine it would make it much easier to decide whether to rant at the referee or say you didn't see it.

Whats there to decide!??
If the opposition get a penalty, its never a penalty.
If you get denied a penalty, the referees rubbish!

Few years off yet. Way too much work to get that working properly.

Then there'd be 60 threads a day on here saying "that pixel never connected, if you look here on MS Paint, zoomed in" for given fouls.

I wouldnt want a 3D engine, but FaceGen is a large step towards it now that all players can be given faces.

That advantage for a 3D engine is marked, yes. But I'd be more of a fan of a 2D engine with 3D "snippets"

So basically, when a controversial foul (or any foul?) is made, you can select to watch just a snippet of that foul in 3D.

So not the whole match, but just that bit.

Either way, I'm happy with 2D though.

2d is decent enough for me. 3d would just use more computerpower

Technically, SI's engine is already 3D.

It's just represented in a 2D form.

I'm still playing 07, and I find that listening to the assman is the key for controversial referee decisions. If your assman thinks the referee made a blooper, chances are he did, and vice versa.
