Thing is I think this has been coming for sometime.

IMO its a combination of a lack of new features that truly take the game forward, longstanding bugbears not being fixed (transfer market for example) and a game that shouldnt have been released as was, and is arguably still in a pretty poor state.

Nobody should be surprised we are seeing so many rants.

The game has been out for 2 months now..why do we have to wait until feburary before we can enjoy the match engine? Its more than annoying to look at my worldclass strikers miss chances after chances each match.
SI should release another beta patch just to fix the match engine right now..im sure we can wait a few month more just to get an transfer update

The bottom line is this. If customers who have paid good money for this game didn't come on here and vent their frustrations (in a civilised, literate manner I might add) and criticisms of the serious flaws ruining their enjoyment of said game, then those flaws would never be addressed. Some people can enjoy the game irrespective of it's bugs, good for them. Others would appreciate getting what they paid for. A 'sports management simulation'.

When I pay good money for anything, no matter what, I expect it to work properly. SI get more leeway with me than most other companies and services would because a) The game's still a masterpiece, even with myriad problems and b) software bugs are, sadly, inevitable.

However, my patience is not inexhaustible. I paid for this game. I don't believe that it is quite good enough with all the current problems. Therefore, I shall complain about it. It's a shoddy product. I won't insult JimmyIOCS, but I will say that I would much rather these boards were open to all nature of comments on the game, rather than just gushing praise. And we all know that SI welcome constructive criticism anyway. They're hardworking company, and that's partly why I'm so disappointed with FM08. It just feels like it was rushed. The match engine is by far the biggest bugbear for me. It's precisely because I know how much enjoyment and fulfillment I can get from this game that I am so critical of it at the moment. And, I'm sorry JimmyIOCS, but as a paying customer for this product, when I'm not happy, I'll make my feelings known.

I think the point is this:

No-one minds constructive criticisms. SI welcome them.

However, there are far too many "rants" written in the style of the first post in this thread, or written by very ill-informed people, using text language. The post itself annoys people, rather than the actual content.
