I have downloaded a skin and some graphics (logos and kits) and saved them into the right folders but they still won't load up. I have unticked "use skin cache" and ticked "always reload skin on confirm but the graphics still don't appear and the skin doesn't appear in the skins bit. Is there anything else I can do to make it work?

The long way for doing it, is save all your graphics somewhere else, unistall fm07, delete all si folders, then re-install update it with the latest patch, and then add all your graphics back in, they will work everytime with out having to do anything else.

Well thanks for that. Not only did it not work, I also lost all my saved games.

Omggggg I’m an idiot, I forgot to say save you saved games somewhere else, I have no idea why I didn't say that, I feel well bad, accept my apologise for the poor information, is there anyway you can back date your comp, although I wouldn’t recommend it unless you really needed to get your saved games back as it can mess with your system a bit, also if you did reinstall fm07 and then the patch and then added your graphics in, they should have worked and the skins you loaded in should have appeared in the options through preferences.

Other than that maybe it's a damaged file so maybe try downloading the same skin from somewhere else, again I do apologise for not saying to save your saved games somewhere else.

Well the furthest I'd got into a game was november 06 so no great loss. To be fair I should have thought of that myself really.

which skin are you trying to use, i know this might sound silly but if you downloaded it as a .rar file did you extract it using winrar?

I have downloaded the mercury skin but I don't have the option to extract it. I've seen people say to save files in other places e.g. Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2007/data/graphics/pitch/icons/kit
but I have no idea how to do that.

If it is a single .rar file you'll have to download a program called winrar, check out download.com it's really easy to use, if it's already open so you can go into the folders, open my computer, c:drive, program files, sports interactive, fm07, graphics folder, and then the skins folder just drag and drop all of the files for the skin in there

When you load the game go into preferences and you should see the skin in there, I hope that’s what you mean.
