I would like to create 20 B teams in the English league for the top teams. So teams like Man Utd & Middlesbrough's youth are actually playing in competitive games every week like the Spanish & German leagues.
The only difference is i don't want the B teams in the lower English leagues as in reality the English FA would never accept it nor would any of the lower clubs. Plus i don't want to boot out the any English clubs out of the league to make room.
So what i need to do is take a small league that runs from August to May remove the old teams and input the new B teams, I thought about using a small eastern European league like Romania. Any existing cups linked to the league are a bonus.
But my problem is how do i stop the champions of my new reserve league entering into European cups and if i use a Asian league aren't i going to have the same problem?
only thing i can think of is to give the league a REALLY low co-effiecient for example san marino only get one euro spot and its the uefa cup, doesnt eliminate the teams going to europe but should mean very few of them play in europe
Teams who get relegated won't get promoted again, as well, teams from the 1st division who get promoted won't get B teams.
Also, B teams cannot qualify for continental competition, and teams in different leagues to what they should be in can't qualify for continental competitions.
Out of curiosity, I set one of the Premiership teams to South Korea(I do random crap like this all the time as I have nothing better to do) and made sure they finished 1st. The result was suprising, actually. Not only did their reserves play in the South Korean reserves(I had South Korea running, too) but they qualified for the Asian Champion's League by finishing 1st in the Premiership.

Just something interesting and not really related to the original post, but in FM06, I set my team up in one of the Irelands (can't remember which), and gave myself a B team (or perhaps I moved a team that already had a B team to that Irish league and totally modified them - it was FM06 so I don't remember). Anyways, I set my B team up to play in the other Ireland (I don't remember which was in Northern and which was in Republic, but for this it doesn't really matter). The B team eventually got good enough and won their league (they were in top level), but of course didn't qualify for European competitions. However, they did qualify for that competition between the Irish leagues (4 or 6 teams from each, playing in groups leading to knockouts). So after a few seasons, the final was always myself vs my B team. I think this competition has been disabled in 07 (I think by 7.0.1, though not sure). Just found that interesting.
