In real life if you are a manager you know what things affect what. However in FM you dont because you dont know what things SI have programmed into it. The only people that would know are the people at SI. Well this poses a problem because many people base there tactics on knowledge from real life. What you might think is common sense might not be included in the game. I will use an example of something that is in the game. If you use short passing how do you know it is better to play narrow? you assume it but you dont actually know it is included in the game. You would think it is common sense but that is in the real world and may not be in the FM world. This is actually included in the the game and you can figure it out by watching your team but this is just an example to show what I mean.
So how do you approach this problem? A simple answer to a complex problem. Assume nothing. This means it will require lots of testing but by reading the forums you can learn about what affects what. It has been seen that many of the experts on tactics on this forum have changed their approaches as they play more and learn more.
