Yes, you had more shots, but they had more shots on target, and their accuracy paid off. The 9 shots off target could've been anything from hitting the post of being so poor they went out for a throw-in. You should try and improve your shots on target by not allowing many players to try long shots, and not giving too much CF across the team since they would let them try their own thing anyway.

Another notable point is that, again, the opposition had better heading success, which suggests that you should improve the way your team play aerially. Such can be done by dropping strikers deeper or pushing them further forward to allow them to not be so tight to their marker. Similarly, having strikers swap positions could cause the defenders to chase the wrong man and leave gaps. Basically though, until you have every single stat in your favour, and enough possession and shots on target to constitute 'dominance', it is folly to say the AI has some unfair advantage.

This is amazing as everything Spurs hit was from distance, whilst again we cannot manage shots on target from just a few yards?.

The AI has an amazing percentage of shots from distance on target, not only that but they usually force my keeper into a save, either going out for a corner or just bouncing off him straight back to the opposition.

Look at the passing and possesion %, it's very clear who has the upper hand at both.

I think it would be more appropriate to circle the Shot On Target and the Headers Won stats... high passing and possession means nothing unless it is penetrative.

I explained the shots on target above. At least 11 of Spurs shots were from 25 yards or more and two of their goals were scored from this distance.

Look at action zones. If you have posession in the middle or your half - who cares? If AI plays counter-attack, it does not care about posession, but rather about creating good chances. You allow too many shots from distanse - use DM to prevent it.

I play West Ham, rarely have posession above 48%, yet lost only 2 league games in my second season. I play counter attack and my stats often look like Tottenham ones in your screen. They are not amazing for me at all.

I got feed up with this game so I cheated and did the following to see how the game would react to a team of 11 200 PA/CA players that I controlled.

I tried tactics that I downloaded and default 442 to see how the game would react.

The players where inconsistent to say the least, you would think 11 x 200 CA players would roll through all comers no matter what tactic but you would be wrong.

Then I figured well lets make all the 11 players have perfect stats, which I did with the aid of a memory editor, again, they where inconsistent.

Now ignoring that I cheated to have the best 11 players in the world, it clearly showed to me that there is problems such as:

1) No matter how good your team is, tactics overrides everything!
2) The game favors the AI.

This is one of only two ways I can think of testing whether the game cheats or not, and imo, there is something seriously wrong with this game. I did the same in fm06, 05 and one of the earlier cm's, guess what? they had no problems winning, but why do they have problem in 07? Clearly there is a problem.

I did this to test the game, so I had to cheat, but anyway I am sure someone will tell me I deserved to lose .

The point is fella's it does'nt matter whether i dominate in EVERY area, it's alway's the same old outcome.

If like i say above i dominate every area and stat, then the AI will simply make a player of mine score an o.g. or make a defensive error, it's so blatant and if you can't see it then you just dont want to look simple as that!.

Oh, you replied when I was typing previous post.

That exactly what I meant. I have not seen the game, but what I often see when AI plays against me is a lot of passes among their defs and midfielders with no real danger to me. Action zones look like this or even worse for me (I may have less than 20% in the middle), but the result is almost always in my favor. In fact, I have more troubles when AI manages to give me posession.

You did not deserve to lose, but:
a)Even the best players in the world need time to start playing as the team.
b)All players with 20 stats would try to become leaders = no leader at all.
c)Even with the best players in the world tactic must be right and adopted.

Remember, several years ago Real Madrid was buying stars from all around the world and had a lot of trouble finding an appropriate style? Kind of similar.
