It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Bit of advice for my formation/team?

Hi,

Im using a standard 4-4-2 formation with both wingers arrows going directly forward as far forwards as they can, my right sided centre midfielder with a arrow up to in between the front two and the other central midfielders mentality set to defensive?

Both wingers if got forward runs, crosses and through balls at maximum, the attacking midfeileder with forward runs and through balls to a maximum and the defensive midfielder with no forward runs at all and quite defensive?

A few questions, should i give my strikers any instructions at all?i.e forward runs, long shots etc ive got rooney, villa, okaka, anderson, vitti.

Also any other suggestions on what i can tweek?my team issorry about spelling)

Akineev

Neville ferdinand Vidic Evra

Ronaldo Cahill Beckham Messi

Rooney Villa

subs:

nani
Okaka
Borre
Anderson

plus many many others?

any thoughts?

If you want focus your play on the flanks (your wingers to dribble and cross), don't put them to play through balls because it will contradict with their role of bringing the ball up the flanks. I would also reduce through passes for your attacking midfielder since you want him to run forward. In this case, I would set the through passes often for your defensive midfielder, since he's the anchorman in midfield and much better to initiate counter attacks and such.

For your strikers, it depends on what kind of combination you like to play. For a TM-fast striker combo, you can set your target man to hold up ball, focus direct passes for your TM to head down to for your fast striker, etc. I would make him run forward but not dribble the ball because his primary role is to hold up ball plus win headers and set up while scoring himself. For a combo of 2 fast strikers, you might wanna play short passes to their feet and have them run forward (and dribble if they can) because high passes are likely to go astray as your fast strikers are not strong enough.

Hope it helps?
