Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Can midfielders play on AM position?

let's say if i have a player who is only a left midfielder and i put him on that position:left midfielder, but i give him an arrow so when we have the ball he has to play AM.....can he play like this?because when we atack he has to be an AML.Anybody knows the answer?let's say if i have two central midfielders and i give the barrows so that is making them to play DM when we are defending.can they do that if their only position is central midfielder?i hope u understand my question and give me some advice.thank you

yes you can having them trained in a position makes them perform better in that position.

therefore if you have them trained in both it would be best but one would be sufficient.

anyone can be trained for any position just it means they have no knowlede of how to play that position.

what i was saying is that if you have a player and you want him to do both then train him for both.

but in the mean time use the normal m c and keep the arrow

Horik,

I am 100% sure that ML with farrow can play as AML even without retraining. Moreover, AML can play ML with or without farrow. Same is correct for other similar positions like MC with good creative attacking stats can play AMC, and MC with good def stats can play DM. The only point is if a player has right stats for a position.

Btw, sometimes (injuries, int. duties, etc.) I use one of my DCs as ST-TM without retraining, and it works fine - he wins headers, bring others to play through flick-ons, and scores.

Retraining makes sense if, say, you play 4-4-2 diamond hence never use MCs. Or you know that you will always use player as ML(AML) while he has only WBL in his position description. And as Garymelrosewales said you can retrain anybody to any position, but only to "Accomplished", never "Natural" level. Accomplished is enough though.
