Goalkeepers
When a shot come cross goes fizzing across the box and its obviously off target, i would like him to catch it or at least punch it some distance instead of palming it out straight to the opposition.
When a long ball is lobbed over the top and nobody is near it, wait for it to come into the box and pick it up instead of trying to control it.
When instructed to give the ball to a defender, do so instead of hoofing the ball straight to the opposition.
When team instructions are set to pass ball down wings, dont then hoof the ball through the centre straight to the opposition big man who heads it straight back to the advancing forward.
Oh and when the opposition shoot from distance, try not to let the ball go straight through you.
Full Backs
When on the odd occasion the keeper rolls the ball out to you as advised, try to control it first time so that you are not put under immediate pressure from the advancing opposition forward.
If you have space to run into do so appropriately and if you dont, play a simple pass as opposed to hitting it straight at the nearest opposing player and giving him a free run down the wing.
If you are instructed to take throw ins, try to throw it to your own player once in a while, if your not instructed to take throw-ins then DONT!.
If you are far pacier than the opposing player running after the same ball, beat him to it for gods sake.
If you are far better in the air than the opposing player going for the same ball, win the header for crying out loud.
If your instructions include crossing the ball do so, rather than get in a great position to cross, but then stand stock still until an opposing player simply nicks the ball of your foot.
Centre Backs
When you have a chance to make a clearance, dont pass it two yards to the opposing unmarked player, hoof it up the pitch, to the wings if possible.
If the opposing player is poor at dribbling and your tackling stats are top notch, i expect you to make the tackle.
If you are instructed to tight mark a player and your marking and concentration stats are high, i do not expect to see him stood on his own in the box ready for an easy tap-in.
Do not stand still with the ball until a member of the opposition comes and simply takes it off you.
If you are far better in the air than the opposing player going for the same ball, win the header for crying out loud.
If you are far pacier than the opposing player running after the same ball, beat him to it for gods sake.
Do not handle the ball in the box or make a stupid tackle on an opposing player when under little or no pressure.
If i could give my players the above instructions, i'm pretty sure i could win a much bigger % of games and only let about a quarter of the goals in than i do currently.
