I have managed to get Stevenage promoted in back toback seasons from the Blue Square Premier to Coca Cola league 2 and then Coca Cola league one and now my lads are in the Championship! :cool:

This is in no small part to some fantastic signings i have along the way. Therefore these players are great for lower league teams;

Tony Stokes MC (from West Ham approx £2k)
James Ashmore MC (Middlesbrough approx £2k)
Ben Hutchinson ST (Middlesbrough approx £5k)
James Constable ST (Cant remember but approx £110k)

Mitchell Hanson DR/L (Blackburn aprox £5k)
Vladimir Weiss AMC (Free i think - end of contract)

James Smith DC (Free)

And also some of the present Stevenage players are worth keeping and nurturing. Get some god coaches in and allocate them to the respective training as efficietly as you can. The players who get better and are worth being in your team are;

John Nutter DL
Lawrie Wilson DR
Alistair John AMR/L
Steve Morison ST
Barry Fuller DR/MC

I've started as Kidderminster and James CONSTABLE is very very good.

I found Bryan Hodge - from blackburn (free) to be superb in the middle of the park.

along with Andrew Barcham - from spurs (free) to be a decent striker and right midfielder.

Which players did you sign in your first season? Trying to get hold of a good central midfielder at the moment! Won my first couple of games in my first season.Morison seems to be delivering the goods for now,playing with just him up front for now with Miller or Mcmahon just behind him.

To be honest with you McMahon is not worth bothering with.


In my first season i got Tony Stokes for £3k and James Ashmore for £1k, both were transfer listed so easy to pick up cheap. The other players of note were Jason Marr from Blackburn, a right sided defender, i picked him up for free from Celtic, and also Ben Hutchinson from the Boro, an excellent acquisition. Mitchell Hanson i also picked up for £14k, these were all excellent for me.

Jason Marr i sold on to Peterborough for £85k, a nice little profit 2 years later.

Also do not underestimate John Martin, hes a good little player, capable of playing as a DMC aswell as MC. I eventually sold him for £160k.
