Replacement for Vidic, so i need suggestions on some GREAT defenders
hey,
what happened was that i had to sell vidic, because he got unhappy when i rejected a bif from barcelona for him...in the end i sold him for 26 million pounds
i thought that i could get micah richards to replace him but because of the rivalry the club wont accept my bids of up to £30 million!
who can i buy that can possibly cover the huge hole that vidic has left behind? ANY suggestions would be nice, i've looked at barzagli whose snapped up already, gonzalo rodriguez, pablo etc and they all seem to be recommended by my top scout as just 'a good signing', i need a difinite purchase for a centre back....has anyone got any ideas?

i sold ferdinand for 34 m in first season and brought in Vincent Kompany for around 14 m - hes young and seems really solid (Y). Pique and Evans are also good, have you tried them

I can't see past Zapata at the moment, stats wise he looks great, with potential to improve, now if only i could get those zebra bastards to let him go!

What season are you in? If its the second or after, you should still be able to get Barzagli as he generally leaves at the beginning of the first season. He's not very loyal so is happy to move if he gets a good offer elsewhere (at a big club though). Anything upto 30M for Barzagli is fine as he's just got amazing stats.
Tbh, there are not too many CB's who are "definite purchases". Barzagli, Terry, Ramos and Toure are the 4 that come to mind as must buys. They are all extremely solid but also extremely expensive. Barzagli, at around 13M at the start of the game, is an absolute bargain. But the rest, you are looking at nothing less than 30+M. And even that's probably very less.
Tough that you had to let Vidic go. He's one of the best in the game as well. But try for any of the above mentioned ones. Else get players like Breno, Garay etc who are all very good. Djourou is another. Kompany is very good too if you like your defenders to go forward sometimes. I HATE that because all I want them to do is defend. But Kompany's just like Lucio. Good defender and has a release clause of around 14M at the start I think! :thup:
