The side play their home games at Millmoor, Millmoor has been their home for the past 100 years.
Rotherham's main existance has been in the bottom two leagues of the english football league system, however they are have flirted with life in the Championship (formally Division 2, in the days before the premier league)on more then one occassion. The most recent was under the stewardship of former Millers Striker Ronnie Moore who took the club to the division from the basement league with 2 back to back promotions. The club managed to stay in the Championship for 3 seasons, before a disastorous start to the 2004/05 saw the club rooted the foot of the championship table, Moore lost his job and was eventually replaced by former Luton and Wimbledon striker Mick Harford as manager, relegation was already confirmed by this stage. During that summer Harford starting to bring in his own players and rebuild for that season in League One. The team started well, however a 18 game run without a win, saw Harford lose his job, to couple the on field problems, the clubs new owners who had only recently bought the club, announced the club was in financial crisis, paying high rent to the clubs former chairman, still paying championship wages to players, the future didn't look bright. The board turned to youth coach Alan Knill to take over 1st team affairs on a caretaker basis, it was still unknown whether the team would stay in business nevermind stay in League One. A Fantastic finish to the season saw the club finish 20th just outside the relagation zone. The off field problems did not go away however,a new board of local businessmen took over the club and entered the club into a CVA which is a form of administration. This meant that under League rules Rotherham started the following season 2006/07 on -10 points. Knill now in permanent charge of 1st team affairs, started well, young striker Will Hoskins was scoring for fun and the -10 was soon cleared and the club started to climb the table. Just when Rotherham fans thought the bad times where behind them, Hoskins and midfielder Lee Williamson where both sold to Watford for around 1 million pounds. The deal certainly helped the club off the field, but on the field, performances went down hill, Knill was sacked and the club where yet again relagated.
So now in League Two, with a new manager former Man Utd and Norwich and Rotherham striker Mark Robins. A brand new squad, can Rotherham ever get back to those heady championship days?.

Im just about to start my 1st season, looking at the squad, like in real life I cant see a 25 a goal striker in the squad, so that will be my 1st priority. Defence wise this looks solid with Graham Coughlan leading from the back. Midfield also looks lightweight on numbers and lacks proper wingers.
Ill keep you posted on signings and progres.
