Ian, I couldn't agree more. Im in my 18th season and this has happened in every year.

Even in the divisions where I have gone up as champions, it still happens. The aquaplaning is so consistent I can look at my fixture list and predict when it is going to start happening and it does!!

Always happens at the same time of year.
Always seems to last the same duration of games
Always seems to skip the cups and continue back in the leagues!

Im currently experiencing it at the moment. As you say, there is sod all you can do about it so I just grit my teeeth and work through it, hoping to be lucky enough to pick up the odd draw if poss.

Oooh, what was that, ouch. As I said, it was the worst that has happened to me, and it was only 10 matches followed by 7, so I thought it would be pretty clear I wasn't trying to prove anything. Not too sure, what that barb was all about, but there you go.

It obviously does exist, there seems to be enough anecdotal evidence to support that. What we don't know is what causes it, given that some get it worse than others.

I can certainly relate to the original point. In addition, it does seem almost too uncanny that a long-term injury occurs to a player in a position where you have least cover.

Perhaps this could be explained away by the players being overworked but it seems to happen immediately after you sell a player in a certain area as well.

Coincidence?

It occurs to me that, while FM06 was lauded when it first was played, it doesn't have that long term playability of, say, CM0102 (unfair comparison). Long term saves seem to be elicitng some angst amongst long time players.
